Family Support

Family support is a valuable tool that has shown to offer numerous benefits. When a family member undergoes addiction treatment, education can help dispel myths and can create an atmosphere of compassion. When families can offer support and understand the science of addiction and recovery, they are better suited to help their loved one.

Life Skills

Relearning life skills is a critical element of drug and alcohol treatment. With practice, these skills can become second nature and minimize overwhelming feelings of stress. Life skills include soft skills, such as listening, expression of feelings, problem solving, assertiveness, resilience, and self-awareness. Directly related to one’s behavior, these can determine success in work and personal relationships.

Regular day to day living requires technical skills. During rehab treatment, clients can learn ways to take care of their body through proper nutrition and exercise. We offer fun, group cooking classes that encourage healthy eating habits. We also develop career skills such as resume building and interview skills.

Transportation

Unreliable transportation or lack thereof shouldn’t prevent individuals from getting the help they need. Through a partnership with a non-profit transportation provider, clients can get back- and-forth transportation to treatment, work, school, court hearings, and medical and counseling appointments. This can greatly enhance self-esteem for those in recovery, as they can show responsibility by showing up.

Vocational Scholarships

In partnership with CalRegional, PVRS graduates can pursue careers in medical assisting, phlebotomy, and Emergency Medical Technician. Tuition scholarship and paid externship available to help graduates begin a new career.

Memorial Scholarships

Memorial Scholarships can help offset the cost of treatment. If cost is a factor that prevents seeking treating, apply for a Memorial Scholarship through PVRS.
